Colors Magazine, published by the Italian retailer Benetton, devotes an article to toilet paper and how it differs from one country to another.

In the Ivory Coast,, for example, different brands are named for American soap operas, such as Santa Barbara and Dallas Jumbo.

In Britain, a moist toilet tissue called Andrex is the most expensive brand on the market, but it’s so popular that it’s the seventh bestselling product of any kind in the country.

In Japan, a $1,700 device called the Washlet Queen, a combination toilet seat and bidet, could make toilet paper obsolete.
