Hi ! I just joined. Wonderful site?
I am wondering if you can help me with something. My kids bought a house that was built in the 1940s. In the bathroom, toward the bottom of the floor right next to a built in laundry hamper is a strange cabinet (also built into the wall) that tilts out when you open it. It is rectangular shaped, and metal on the inside. It is about fifteen inches high and a foot across. We are trying to figure out what it was used for. Do you have any ideas? If you want I can send you photos but I am don’t seem to be able to copy and paste the photo into this email. Thanks very much!

Thank you for your feedback, Mrs. Goldsmith! We’re happy you like the site. From your description – it tilts open and has a metal inside, we’re thinking it is probably a trash can? Hope this helps!
